Seems like Russia struck at a moment of vulnerability, while they were disconnected from the grid. I wonder if they knew in advance of the test.

You’re looking at history through a very Western lens. In other cultures, some substances were ritualistic and culturally important.

It’s why I am happy to have a predominantly dumb car with almost no automation, and manual. Would be nice to have EV without all the “smarts”. Having a single screen as your UI to control basically everything in the car is scary as hell.

If your country/city was being shelled, you wouldn’t have the luxury of turning this into an abstract intellectual exercise. What happened in Afghanistan was devastating and horrific. You think because I’m a Westerner that I have “pick

Elon has a bit of a history manipulating markets to his advantage. This could just be that, again.

And there aren’t any White Supremacist or Nazi groups in Russia that have influence? Or the US? Or Poland, France? Should they all get invaded? It’s a smokescreen, dude.

So you think the invasion was justified? I believe the US and friends are not saints. But whataboutism is meaningless when cities are being destroyed and civilians are losing their lives, regardless of where it is.

As a SpaceX customer, this makes me sad. I want that money to go into his existing businesses. Not some ego trip for silly idealogical reasons. $43B could go some way for more satellites, more ground stations. Investing in businesses alread

He had access to use the actual POTUS twitter account. Wasn’t his personal account banned?

The POTUS should be treated as just a person to Twitter. However, that person has the resources of the world’s most powerful government. POTUS doesn’t need Twitter to get a message out.

At least your trains run on time, or at all. I guess your criticism is based on the level of service you have become accustomed to in your country, which is incredibly good by world standards.

That is amazing. I have been a happy GOS user for years. Sadly, my Pixel 3a EOL is next month. I opted for an iPhone this time as they generally are supported for longer periods of time. Maybe my next phone will be a phone designed for GOS

Scrolling through hundreds of replies not about the topic, but a small, pedantic, niche interpretation of it, or events loosely connected to it. So comically so, it's as if bots were written to reply to posts and they miss the point co

I live south of Brisbane and I have Starlink and 4G as primary connections. 80-180mbps on 4G with mounted antenna, and 100-350mbps on Starlink. NBN is a backup. I get maybe 18mbps from that connection on a good day.

The US is not currently occupying Japan, but they did at some point. The US and Japan are currently in an alliance. Japan's constitution requires a self-defense force, so they don't have a normal military. That was imposed by the

I get what you are saying. But referring to it as "Peace Talks" is misleading. There is no goodwill or altruism here. It is purely another military strategy. If the outcome is occupation, that is not peace.

It's not peace talks. It is something like "agree to our demands, otherwise we keep bombing". It's trying to get the outcome they want without further military action. And a takeover by any means is not a peaceful action

I use Aurora Store to anonymously download and update apps on Google Play store, all without any Google Play services (I run GrapheneOS). Signal app on my phone is basically the same APK on Play store.
