With the risk of sounding redundant: I would never wish to reverse the job seeking process for myself. I prefer to keep my destiny in my own hands and seek out the job I feel best fits my skills and interests. I don't trust potential employ

Do you want to get into a philosophical discussion on what constitutes technology? :P I believe patents should be used to protect inventions of new technology (e.g. things like light bulbs, telephones (ouch) or cars), not "methods for illum

How can this be worthy of a patent? This has been the example of GPGPU from day one. It is not even a technological invention, it is an application of existing technology. It is like IBM patenting "using a computer for business administra

I think raising these concerns is fair in a world where nearly all Unix-related source code and binaries is distributed in (g/bzipped) TAR format. Unfortunately, the author does not really explain why this is and what is wrong with ZIP (e.g

Keen observation. Correlation does not imply causation. Do keep in mind though that this is an old article (2008). Followup studies have been conducted, such as "Treatment of childhood obesity by retraining eating behaviour: randomised cont

Although this is a pretty old article, I think it's still pretty relevant. Interestingly, a colleague of mine has graduated on the subject by designing an augmented dinner plate to help people adjust their speed of eating: http://www.lissa

With the risk of sounding like a sour guy, I'm just going to say it: why do people pay money for apps that are essentially web browsers in a shiny package? I am not against people making money by providing better access to content that is a
