I would have expected it to work like the fonts, where you only query the things you need, and not everything. For performance reasons I assume people would still make a custom font/SVG set with only the icons they need.

Except they are not (at this point). This is a message in a beta, that has appeared in december 2020 as well. Rosetta 2 has to be removed at some point, just like Rosetta 1 was.

I think most people who are not a fan of space programmes would like to have spent that money/effort on humanitarian and socio-economic problems first. I say why not both? Just reduce military spending.

It would also calm me down because it is quite specific and shows a possible resolution and course of action, instead of a vague 'fine'. What is fine, when will it be fine, how will it be fine? In general I think it would also hel

The M1 is fine for a lot of workloads but the current M1 macs are not suitable for heavy work. Regarding niches; video work, audio work, ML, compiling stuff larger than simple projects, etc. The current M1 macs start to break down on a lot

This may be fine for the current M1 macs, since they are most likely not used by professionals or people that will do potentially installation damaging things, so a trip to the Apple Store will suffice. But this better work once the pro mac

The minimum size for an empty DMG I could create on my mac was 8Mb. If I make the DMG directly from the folder with the app in it, it becomes 1.2Mb. Maybe the developer uses a script that makes it this size.

Bit a weird claim. From the article, it doesn't really look like this is going to put a dent in Tesla. BMW was best positioned to do this, but failed. VW should have done this a long time ago, but has a board that still drinks oil.
