Thanks for that. Didn't know this is a thing in Caddy. Seems low effort so I'll probably do that for now. I omitted it but I'm actually using caddy-docker-proxy. It's awesome, makes the config section be part of each pro

Whenever I have anything to deploy, so depends on the project. On actively developing ones, could be once or twice a day. On slower days maybe once every 2/3 days.

Nowadays I use github's packages registry. I used to run my own registry in the past along with the docker save method. But both of them are annoying to deal with. I have Github Pro so it's pretty much free. However even if I need

Over the years, I kept tweaking my setup and now settled with running everything as a docker container. The orchestrator is docker-compose instead of systemd. The proxy is caddy instead of nginx. But same as the author, I also write a deplo

It's also a lot about who holds the buying power and what's the incentive. If I'm a developer working for a company, I probably wouldn't bother raising it up to management. Especially when it's tools like this where

I've recently started to get burnt out by Next.js. Most of its benefits stems from its SSR capabilities. However, that is also the part that is most buggy and keeps changing. It keeps improving but it just isn't there yet. Perhaps

Interesting take. I do agree there's some visual noise there, but not how you described it. UUID just takes so much screen space compared to its integer counterpart. If you don't have a good UI sorting things out it's quite a

I see it in a completely different lens. Engineering is hard. Good engineering more so. What's even harder is to manage those projects well without having the technical skill to understand it. Whenever I find a technically challenging

The other replies defends the walled garden approach but I agree with you. Most of the time I patch or fork the project to suit my needs. But sometimes there's little things that would definitely help if it's merged to the mainlin

More than tens I'd say. I suspect for each person that interacts, there are dozens that don't. If I have to bet, I'd put the ratio at 1:100. So 100 lukers for every 1 active user.

Had a thought recently. What's stopping someone from separating table migrations from others like functions/triggers? The standard tables can use the standard process while triggers, etc are run declaratively. When you change some

Same sentiment here. The last thing I want to do is adding friction to my research and having to consider whether I should use Google instead for some queries. So under the new plan, I'd have to base my decision on the ultimate plan, $

This right here. Most of the time you just need to rebuild your image. If the project is being actively developed and built, nothing to worry about. (Unless you pin to a very specific OS version of course). If it's not, you just need t
