Never had a problem with dependencies in Python. Just keep it simple. When starting a new project: virtualenv venv -p *path-to-python-version-you-want* ./venv/bin/pip install *name-of-package* When running that proje

I don't know where over-modeling fits in the argument. Business logic in an isolated part of an application is likely to age better than something that is intertwined with a database or other external dependencies.

I agree – but that doesn't actually challenge my argument. I would be reluctant to use this due to the very tight coupling to GraphQL and Postgres. Unless – of course – you simply want something working quickly that does not need to be

Your reply suggests you either couple everything or nothing. It’s more nuanced than that. Everything is a trade off. With that said, it looks like this library will position itself in the center of your architecture — and I would be very h

I am very hesitant to couple the business logic of any application to the transport layer (GraphQL) or the persistence layer (Postgres) for that matter.

Love data classes! Would've been even cooler if they could've been made immutable. Oops, never mind: "It is not possible to create truly immutable Python objects. However, by passing frozen=True to the dataclass() decorator y

Simple != easy. It is easy to add another dependency, but you've just added another piece to the puzzle that needs to be maintained.

Built multiple complex systems using TDD and the unittest package in Python. No monolithic frameworks, almost zero test infrastructure and ~ 1000 unit tests/sec. Do not share your perspective.

Appreciate the book, don't get me wrong – but I've never understood how anyone can call something a "unit test" when it takes more 2-3 milliseconds to run.

Not intended as criticism, but isn't it easier to just express your query in Python using filter?

Just throwing out some armchair criticism: I would think that a robotic chef would look a little less intuitive. I mean, is two monkey arms really the optimal strategy for revolutionizing this field? Happy to be proven wrong!
