Ignoring the technical difficulties others have mentioned, the fundamental flaw to me is that other people set the response times. This is akin to Outlook's priority markers. There's nothing wrong with prioritising, but it needs to be you w

This list essentially boils down to; create good content. People have been giving that advice for as long as I can remember, but I can't ever remember a list where x SEOs all gave it as their only tip. Kind of a nice turnaround. Also, they'

I love the signup page on this site. The writing style of the app itself speaking to you is a great twist and kept me scrolling at least. I have to agree with others here that there are a lot of apps in this space, but the interactive demo

Haha, I actually thought of Typecast when I loaded up this site! (I'm from Belfast, not too many apps of that quality around here! :) ) A little ashamed to say that I haven't used it yet (I'm a developer more than a designer, so just have

Nicely done, I love how easy it is to flick between fonts instantly. I would second cleverjake's comment that a neat way to see serveral fonts together would be awesome (Especially for a different headline font vs the body copy). Also, a se

No, he pointed out how a normally positive gesture (saying "i'll find out") can be an indicator of a more subtle problem (intermediaries). I think its very easy to forget those signs of a more subtle issue and just be glad each question is

A well written post and a lot of good lessons. I really liked your 2 tips for spotting expensive middle men in particular. Seems obvious when you think about it, but well worth being conscious of.

Great summary here, love the 3.2/4.0 side by side examples. I wondered why it hadn't mentioned the new background queue API though, only to find that's been pushed back out of 4.0 now. Just wanted to mention here incase anyone else hadn't s

I don't think this post really answers the question. It tackles it more from the angle of "If you come across the theme without knowing about Svbtle, is it okay to use the theme?" That's fine of course. You can't be blamed for not knowing a

Ah I didn't realise that about the timings, that's a great solution. I definitely like the sound of localising that to each blogger. The filtering tools sound great too, it's great to see yous already have plans for that area. Looking forwa

Congrats on the app launch (To give a different take on someone else's comment; I've been a fan of yours since you introduced my girlfriend to puchi puchis years ago!) I'm curious about how you time all of this. Do the 170 invitations get s

I always start a new pocket moleskine in each new year, and the first page always has my goals for that year. I generally split it up into 3 or 4 business goals, and 3 or 4 personal ones. I like having them written down somewhere physical b

The interactivity here makes this guide a really great resource. People who would normally just scan (Like me) end up clicking the buttons on each step and can then read the sections that sparked an interesting change. Would be nice to see

The open source nature of this all is really awesome, especially combined with the community ideas site. Very encouraging to dive in and write a plugin. Great job guys :)

I get what you're saying about the likelihood of developers having moved on to different projects/companies, but I don't think that issue is specific to this approach in any way. Good software should be written on the assumption that someon

From the article at least, it seems like there aren't a whole lot of PMs at Facebook. If an engineer has an idea, they seem to be more encouraged to just find some people to work with, build it, and then roll it out to a very small section

I really like seeing this approach listed: "resourcing for projects is purely voluntary. A PM lobbies group of engineers, tries to get them excited about their ideas. Engineers decide which ones sound interesting to work on." That sounds ex

Thanks for the info. I know it's a massive undertaking to write an editor, so it will be good to see what point Vico is at in a few more months. :)

I think the author is making too big a deal of this video not being promoted by Apple. Sure, to us reading from the author's blog, we know it's an independent video. To most people who would load up iTunes and see a big banner for a Steve J

Vico sounds good, but in the demo screenshots at least, there's just too much going on for me. Not major differences, but Chocolat seems to get by great without the toolbars along the top, and each screenshot for Vico has too much happening

Sure thing. It's probably easiest to explain by comparing it with the other options. You could say that Vim is one end of a scale (Hardcore keyboard power usage), and Coda/Espresso are on the other (Very designed, and try to do pretty much

I've swapped to Chocolat as my full time text editor. I find it to be a really good cross between a plain+powerful text editor like Vim, but still with some of the pleasant UI touches of Espresso and such. Its speed of development is great

I want to know more about why they chose to share absolutely nothing in the build-up, launch a gorgeous video today, and then aren't ready to take purchases for 48 more hours? That just seems like a huge mistake to me. Surely the point of b
