If they rest vscode will take their lunch (if not already so to some extent). I applaud their Fleet effort but it’s definitely a reaction to vscode, rather than going the hard way willingly

I really want to use Fleet but its vim emulator development is so behind it’s barely usable. (No go-to definition mapping for example) Come on Jetbrains, you’re targeting the developer market, get this right!

Lol, the parent is not serious. People who love to hate Java please take a look at the status quo and stop regurgitating outdated arguments. You can take vim out of my cold dead hands but there’s no way one will be less productive in Java w

Looks like it's because @stedolan goes silent and not delegating the right GitHub repo accesses to the existing maintainers. He seems to be working at Jane Street though, so if anyone is able to reach him please help the jq community :

Yea, distribution > product (most of the time) is almost startup 101 these days. It's dismissive to think the team and its big-name VCs behind it don't know the importance of distribution

Where do you get that stat? It's interesting because I think I read that (uber 70, lyft 30) in 2018 when Uber was in deep trouble. After 5 years, Lyft can't do better than that?

Probably me but I definitely sense biases in your replies. Vim ecosystem is 'controlled' by the community not Bram. If Neovim/Lua is not good enough there wouldn't be a fracture in the first place. The fact that Bram saw

"not a big deal" and "[Helix] bindings are an improvement" are rather subjective in this case I'm afraid

Same here. Not that having a different editing modal is a bad thing, but vim model is proven so well that I'm not sure why any new editor would choose to die on this hill and not offer vim keybindings for many more audiences.

It's kinda embarrassing, JB wants to push their new editor, but even months after public beta, the vim emulator is still barely usable, and afaict it's maybe like 1-2 people working on this. I don't get it, if you are targeti
