This research seems quite interesting, however I see one problem here. The BitMate client is fairly heavy, the download ranks in at 18MB. Getting this out to users in low bandwidth areas becomes difficult due to this. Compare this to uTorre

By "reversing the changes" I think the OP wants to add this in as a patch for the Transmission, which is a popular open source BitTorrent client. In fact I'd love to do that as well, given the chance. EDIT: Just found out that it's open sou

Thanks for the tips, but as a student it seems a bit hard to get access to the data sets etc. needed for those. However, I'll look into it.

I think they're viable in terms of business prospects as long as you can get good games out consistently. I'm currently working at a startup that puts out mobile apps, we're currently moving into the gaming market. Not sure about any fundin

I'm posting this here because, to me, the restriction makes no sense. Also, it seems to mostly affect publishers in third world countries. I would really love to find out the rationale behind this.

I don't have a student visa unfortunately. Time to build an open source portfolio and get in line for GSoC... Any suggestions? I have a few small useful scripts that I've written over the years but they're not of good quality to release. Sh

Hmm. Their free usage tier might be interesting as well, for a year at least. But you have to take bandwidth usage into account, other VPS providers seem to give much more bang for the buck there.
