I think you're discounting the overhead of finding tools to use, as well as the benefit of discovering tools that could reduce the amount of time you have to spend on things that, ultimately, don't contribute to building a success

This brings back SO many memories of the earliest "programming" I ever did: RPG Maker 2000. The stuff I wrote could barely even be called 'games' (after all, I was about 12 years old), but it's where I first experi

...? I could be wrong, but the vast majority of MfP doesn't have lyrics. It's all atmospheric, vague, kinda droning music. http://musicforprogramming.net/?c=aesthetic

Totally agree, if I'm using a smiley and not an actual emoji. It's really weird, but in Hipchat, it always throws me off a little bit when I include an emoticon, but the resulting graphic conveys a slightly different connotation t

I'm still in the middle of reading, but I couldn't help but smile when I read this line: "Through the rooms people (mostly women) come and go, talking occasionally in hushed tones of Michelangelo, and texting." Which is

Old computer, yeah- Raspberry Pi, not so much. Takes hours to compile node from source, and I've only been able to find one source for ARM node binaries. And after all that, hubot still ran pretty damn slow. :(

So can calls to "map" and "filter", if your language allows side effects. Not that I'm trying to be all dogmatic about referential transparency- more like, without it, is there a large benefit to functional style vs

I was thinking about this- maybe one could have a "formal name", "familiar name", and "honorific" field? I think the problem is drawing the distinction between the questions "what is your canonical identit

Doesn't Flexbox pretty much solve this problem? I mean, if you need to maintain backwards compatibility this might be reasonable, but "justify-content: center" and "align-items: center" seem to work unreasonably we

Mostly, just for fun, I think. In a way, it's sort of a role-play, with all the different 'factions' on /r/thebutton collectively assigning meaning (in the form of mock religions) to the button itself. I don't

Well, there are several factors at play here. Competing with McDonald's is only partially related to the problem of a single restaurant providing quality food on the cheap- there's also the supply chain to consider.

I really like how you straight-up stole the Creeper face for this project. Not sure if it's a trademark, or if you're legally liable... But it's extremely poor taste.

Something similar has happened to me, on a smaller scale. I was recently checking my bank account, and noticed a charge from AWS for something like $15. After further investigation, I had apparently been charged this $15 for about 6 month

I disagree. I detest coffee shops for trying to get any work done for a couple reasons. First, no matter how hard I try, noise always seems to seep in through my headphones, and second, it's too dynamic of an environment for me- people wa

True, but the power of QR codes lies in the ability to embed large amounts of contextual information that's not directly related to remembering it. Consider an ad campaign in a large city that puts up advertisements on bus stops. A savvy m
