My favourite by miles was asking bard for some more mathematical examples after explaining quantum field theory quite well in words, to which it said "Ok here are some examples of mathematics: 2+2=4"

It's more that mathematics is solely consumed inside "mathematics for engineering 101" spread across N years.

Watching the demos for this the phrase "Apple are building the end of culture" came to mind. I want one, but if it sticks I can see a world where an AI persona is giving me a personalized layoff message in 10 years time.

The question will be will the distribution of ibeer/games to genuinely innovative uses of the form. That being said I don't know what the first "wow" app was for the iPhone other than games?

Below a certain IQ sure. The actual answer here is presumably just that it's legally cleaner — that and internal hiring and so on is apparently logistically almost impossible for a lot of companies (organizations accumulate a lot of sc

Hate to say it but I get the impression (having learnt "hardcore" programming first then learnt react recently) that web dev struggles a lot from having smart-but-tasteless amateurs who don't know when to stop. That and npm h

One of the things that you can do with D and as far as I know Julia is enable specific optimizations locally e.g. allow FMAs here and there, not globally. fast-math is one of the dumbest things we have as an industry IMO.

I would never fault Walters graciousness, rather that I and others just find it difficult to establish a common ground quite often. You can see this very clearly in the discussion of the SQL applications of the string interpolation proposal

I don't think Walter has ever intentionally talked down to anyone in my time, but his tone can be subtly belittling over some details. I don't think it's intentional but the argument always begins with explaining some detail

Your first example might be a little harsh, but there is a real risk if you let these things go uncontrolled e.g. the potential for fraud is enormous.
