So you list Dart as being well supported on the server side? Did I miss some killer app/framework recently?

Sure, I really do hope that engineers do their best to fix things, but in the sad world of contemporary web frontends, I'm a bit pessimistic (then again, if one has to err on the side of build system over-engineering, you're rarey

The neat thing about modern SPAs backed with your average feature-flagged CI/CD setup is that you're getting a new 30 mb download each time .

I was just mentioning those layers as something Apple was able to do if they wanted to keep being compatible. They could, but they don't want. How sinister that purpose is, is up to the reader...

The interesting thing is that alternatives to PowerPoint are actually easier than before. Does anyone know where the trend towards simpler presentations started? In the '90s, everyone went crazy with transitions, but even beyond that y

Killing it in the way they did? Not a dire technical one. In the past they managed to keep compatibility while switching operating systems ("Classic") and CPU architectures (68k -> PPC, PPC -> Intel). And that while being a

Huh? I doubt that anyone is turning their backs on the UK after a Tory win for business reasons. If you're for lax regulations and live in the UK, you might already be drunk earlier than usual.

This seems common in the Go culture, but I don't see at all why the language points in that direction (apart from Go having plenty of that in a barebones form in the std lib, of course). What language can't compose libs? The main

Unless we're getting somewhat kinky, I don't think that counts as the biggest deprecation of mattress values. I'd rate sweaty obese salesman higher than a short spout of bonking. Unless we're talking about "impure&q

Vaadin is a bit higher level, if I remember correctly. It seems to pivot to work with Web Components these days, some of which might be written in Web Assembly anyway... I don't even think that bytecode->WASM and Java->JavaScrip

That's a pretty good selling point. I always was quite disappointed that after years and years of finding more writable alternatives to the verbosity of HTML, we picked up the worst version of it (from a writing-as-a-human perspective)

I wouldn't say "spectacularly", as I don't remember that many attempts at true end-user apps. Enterprise is ripe with Swing. Nowadays of course the web has blunted our pain receptors for memory bloat and non-native UIs,

Who doesn't? Sure, not everyone runs the same software on different premises or shards by customers, but even just staging/production does benefit from it. And these days, each dev having their own db is quite common.
