Let me share some perspectives on the 'other side'. 1) I don't want people to be able to see me all the time. It's extremely nerve-racking and I feel like an animal in a zoo. And from my experience, people usually don&#x

I tend to believe that people are paid commensurate to the degree of value they create. Bill Gates, in my opinion, has created much more than 100,000 times the value of what an average American creates. That doesn't mean he is a better

I agree. My family income was in one of the bottom three ranges, and I had a score much higher than what is displayed for the top range. Looking back, it is a huge factor in where I've come from there.

Do you talk to your team members for 8 hours a day? I don't. I may catch up with them in the morning for something, perhaps go out for a coffee, or do some pairing when debugging etc but 80-90% of the time I am working on something alo

I have perfect pitch and I find it to be generally enjoyable. It's useful, to some degree, in a musical setting; I find it very easy to hear music and reproduce it immediately (including chord/key analysis, etc). It's fun to

This wasn't the case for me. I managed to get a 30%+ salary increase (alas, the new company didn't have bonuses so this wasn't a ridiculous increase) but I had no room to negotiate vacation days.

It's all about state of mind. People who actually want to make a living, start businesses, create wealth, and live responsibly VS those who just want to be parasites. Attitude is what matters...
