If you are copying many lists, or copying many large lists you still want to use the slice method ( new_list = old_list[:] ) as it is faster then list(). It is also the fastest method of copying lists if you consider copy.copy() and copy.d

I mean, writing software that is usable, useful, maintainable, robust and reliable. This is the type of code that both other developers AND your users will love.

The main problem with this is that author is creating a false dichotomy between writing great software and running a business(hustling). I don't think you have to forgo one to succeed at the other. I just think that you need to make a decis

I don't want to be a hater, but how is this a blogpost(and on the front page of HN)? All of this is literally in Hubots readme.

You are exactly right, hardcover/softcover is generally somewhere between 40 and 60%, I used to work at a receiving area of a bookstore and most commonly the discount was normally in that ballpark.

I would imagine that facebook actually writing non-terrible documentation for their API would be a better strategy then integrating with stack overflow. This can't hurt, but hopefully they don't see it as an replacement for real documentati

Huh a website to promote a startup, by talking smack about google and android. This is both foolish and deceptive. I certainly hope that this isn't the new way to do startup marketing.

Gah, looking at the sample code. Can't resize the text area(unless I missed something), having to scroll horizontally to read code is a pain in the ass. I'll take 80 character lines any day(I assume that don't do that in the java world?)

Unless you host your own email, I assume that even without this specific backdoor built in google would have little trouble getting at the email they host. This is not necessarily bothering to me, or unexpected for hosted services.

I use Vim for essentially everything, what I would kill for is if I could integrate a debugger similar to eclipse pydev, PyCharm or Komodo's. PDB is great, but having to manually type and remember to remove breakpoints can be a pain.

This is okay, but it would be even better if it popped up the file in a at least moderately useable programming text editor (like bespin or something). Maybe the solution here in the mean time is to use this with the bespin bookmarklet( htt
