wow yeah that's pretty lame... slide 27 mentions mastodon as the backend for v1... as if they'll have the ability to just swap in something else later with 10M active users...

I get what you mean but 'prestigious'... doesn't seem the best word. The idols they looked up to had all written a lot of their own stuff (Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly seem like the archetypes there). The Beatles sort of inv

"next big idea" is probably "selectable algorithms". Create 3-5 different search algorithms, with names and understandable characteristics, then let me choose which one when searching. You may have some algorithm that p

No, everyone (bar one person) has the same native language. The person with non-native English does not care, and often has their camera off as well. The 'issue', such as it has ever been raised, was "why don't you have

I thought the same thing. The only thing I'd want from an employer would be time away and space to deal with things on my own or with family/friends. No texts, calls, emails about anything work related. If you have social conne

I take the 3 lines to mean "click/press here for a list of something". Perhaps because people called it a hamburger, that created some extra mental friction, contributing to the confusion/hate?

I've suggested for years that we just split the difference, 'fall back' 30 minutes or what not, and call that done. Not sure why it doesn't get traction.
