Trump's done speaking fees. And years of overpriced merchandise. And routine/regular appeals for donations (save America, etc) - to the tune of 3-5 emails and texts per day. Regardless of how much I 'unsubscribe'. So.

mostly what others said already. for most day to day stuff, iCloud sync and whatnot is decent and works across devices. safari dev tools are... horrid imo, so chrome/ff for dev work, but general browsing, it's great.

I choose it every single day. I have chrome, Firefox, edge and safari at my disposal. Safari is my day to day for most regular usage. For tech/dev work, Firefox and Chrome are usually in flight at the same time. EDIT: "Safari d

I only learned about Zevon's letterman appearance a few weeks ago and watched that. Quite ... powerful, in a very low key way. Was never a huge WZ fan, but had friends who were always in to him - his work is making its way in to my r

Have you listened to Brainwashed by George Harrison? It was his last album, knowing he had cancer and had limited time... wondering if you may have similar resonance with that one.

"let Postgres generate the JSON for API responses" would have been a far less confusing way of expressing that idea. I had read the linked stuff and none of it looked like front-end code hitting a PostgreSQL db directly. yes, if

using an ORM "library" was just as problematic, because data access is something that gets fairly deep in to a project. Had we tied the project to, say, symphony, there would have been a better upgrade path (but that brought its

It's the 'wordpress' part of PHP that is 'mostly not great'. Projects started in the past few years with any major framework will generally be cleaner and easier to understand, and easier to extend with composer&#x

The 7 series is 'done' with security updates as of now. https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php So there's some argument to be made to be in the 8.x series. It's probably not something you should be

Can you give some specific examples? I can't think of too many 'fundamental breaking changes' in PHP between major versions. Some things that will be changed in 9 are now deprecated in 8.2. PHP has gone through a few change

It will be impossible to do any real comparison because the bad stuff is relatively entrenched at most large places. Small quality issues for users would reduce errors, and get expense data reconciled faster. But… by how much? 10%? 20%?
