Loved the style and the sentiment. My eight year old is currently losing his beast (drawing on homework and in-class school work doesn't go over well with his teacher!). His drawings have even reverted to a more simplistic style as he rushe

Nah, I think a mac netbook is what the iPad should have been!

And I'm sure the magazines will be littered with canvas tag-based banner ads that would be much more intrusive than a full page print ad. No ad-blocker plugins on an iPad.

Surely stands or docks will be(or are) available, but I definitely see your point. Judging by the 'lifestyle' photos and videos, the device doesn't look very ergonomic. I'll stick with my Eeepc; I'd just get Egg McMuffin grease on the touch

Good point, but the iPad is still a far cry from an OS X netbook in terms of extensibility. I still think Apple would have a market for a small, cheaper-than-macbook laptop. That said, I pretty much only use my Eeepc as an "internet applia

As a parent of two, that's exactly what I expected to see. The mother shows a lot of control, that had to be hard, even for a short period.

I'll be stuck serving up video in flash for a long time. It's unfortunately still the best option for UA's other than webkit.

If it weren't for the eyes, I'd be more likely to believe it. The flash from a p&s just wouldn't be bright enough at that distance to generate the luminance in the eyes.

Nah, you do have to drink the koolaid to an extent: C# w/XNA framework, but you can use the free VC# Express. Only costs would be $99/yr to publish to Xbox Indie; publishing to windows is free. There's an extensive community that's churning

I wish the article touched on Xbox's Community (now Indie) games. I spend more time on $1 games like I Made a Game With Zombies, Jump!, Johnny Platform's Biscuit Romp and Miner Dig Deeper than I do on XBLA games like Trials HD and Geometry

Looks like it's not all lightcycles: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41791 I love the art direction so far (based on those production stills).

I think you're right on all counts, but.. I was just so into the original movie and the games (arcade, discs, and INTV DD) as a kid that the trailer still makes me giddy!

Can't say I'm a fan of the 'scorched earth' reset or the superfluous floats, but it's a lot to cover in one tutorial. He also does a lot of unnecessary work with those Photoshop techniques.

Agreed about not needing to retire - I'm 40 now and can't comprehend when or why I'd retire as long as I can sit at a desk (or lay in a bed) and pound out markup or code. Maybe only to focus on my own projects or stop dealing with clients.

I think you misunderstood; I didn't mean that Silverlight and JavaFX have to work to match as3/flash9, but that HTML 5/JS do.

I think it will take time. I'm honestly not familiar with Silverlight and JavaFX, but matching AS3's capabilities(OOP, drawing API, Loader classes, filters, tweening engines, particle systems, 3D) and the flash 9 browser plugin's penetratio

yep, it asks for your email login and pw - pretty common; facebook and twitter also do this (or did). people would rather allow them unfettered access than manually set up friends/followers.

Using an eeepc with Ubuntu, the screen will dim after a couple of minutes without clicking. That's more a problem with Ubuntu's energy saving (or maybe the eeepc-specific kernel I'm running) than with the site, but it does underscore the pr

I've seen a lot of cognitive enhancement articles lately that only focus on CNS stimulants and similar drugs like modafinl. I'd love to see more coverage of non-stim nootropics like alcar, racetams, sulbutiamine, deprenyl, etc. I like the d
