My 2001 Z06 Corvette that I bought new in 2000. Hand tools only last forever if you don't use them; I beat the heck out of mine. I buy craftsman tools at sears, at least the basic hand tools. They replace them free when they break/wear o

Reinforces my decision to home/in-school my boy. School was a prison for me and I'd not have that forced on him. Plus I learned far more outside of the classroom when given the chance.

I helped yank a motor from a wrecked stock car when I was 3 (I was running the crane while dad and his buddy had their fingers in there). I got to play with the drill press, grinder, and welder before I was in school. No, I didnt grow up o

I've been telecommuting for almost six years now and the thought of going back to an office is terrifying. I would end spending 2+ hours in traffic, be separated from the things that matter to me most (wife, 2yro, two German shepherds) tha

In 2004 while living in New Mexico, I went and visited the trinity site, stood at the base of the tower, walked around, took pictures - the usual thing. If there wasn't stuff telling you a detonation had taken place, I doubt you'd be able t

I live on 20 acres in Oregon with fiber to the house, my quality of life here is MUCH higher. I also live in a state that hasn't yet tried to turn me into a criminal because I owned an object that was purchased legally. The fact that the ba

Too bad you require a relocation. I could so rock this, but I refuse to live in California anymore.

Nah, don't put cat5 or 6 everywhere. It's spendy, even if not terminated. And you're not going to use most of it. What you do is: put in conduit/flex tubes in the walls in every conceivable location and run them to a common distribution

As a syadmin, having been swallowed by AOL I know that this man speaks truth.

Any sysadmin/ops positions? Er, *nix that is. I know next to nothing about windows these days.

What the heck? There are millions of us. There are several industries revolving around people who "hack" their weapons. Whether its a new handguard on your AR-15, or buying 10 lbs of gunpowder there are people that can help you out. In f

Most manufacturers have quit playing those games. They generally (if you look) tell you what kind of weapon they were tested with, or barrel length failing that. Doing a bit of googling, the .22LR doesn't gain much velocity beyond 14" barr

Sorry, but .22 Long Rifle is generally loaded supersonic from the test fixtures, even in the standard loadings. A pistol (assuming a 6" bbl) is really close to supersonic, if not a bit over. It'll vary by weapon and air density. Now, you
