The Fediverse could be the solution. It is kind of Web2.5 because your identity is tied to the traditional DNS system. But if decentralized domains become a thing, that would automatically make the ActivityPub protocol offer decentralized i

It's not just a shell. It is a terminal UI in which you can browse tables, go into tables, browse and edit rows in a spreadsheet like interface etc. If there is any database out there that is commonly used to demonstrate DB software, I

I have several projects that I develop just for myself. One is a command line based database browser/editor. PhpMyAdmin for the terminal, so to say. I do all my database work inside of this editor. The terminal is just so much faster.

Is there a need for an additional mechanism? Sending a magic link to @user@domain results in a 3 actions login: 1: User types "@user@domain" into the login form and hits enter. 2: User switches to their fediverse inbox 3: User cli

I will use MicroBlogPub on my own domain: https://github.com/tsileo/microblog.pub It seems to have the leanest code base. I am currently putting together a setup script for it. It has an install documentation here: ht

Not sure. The code and the interface of Pleroma are way more complex than microblogpub. I tried a Pleroma instance and the UI had sticky elements. Sticky elements make me scream and run. I really like the HN interface. My ActivityPub node s

Is there already a Fediverse mechanism to let people log into 3rd party sites? Like "Log in with Twitter/Google/Facebook" but "Log in with ActivityPub"? That would be pretty cool. I like the aspect of ActivityP

Heya, nice to meet you! Gnod is still my main project. Combined, the Gnod projects for music, movies and literature are used by about half a million users a month now. I just closed the discussion boards because they caused so much work. Ot

It is hard to keep the discussion friendly and on-topic. And mod actions very often result in someone becoming angry. Which is not only stressful but now you have to deal with off-topic meta discussions about the mod actions.
