Despite the interesting content, I'm compelled to ask: does anyone actually watch progress bars?

Great post! Let me just say that for a person like me, who hasn't really used Erlang in large projects (mostly on small projects for fun), this post (as a retort to the previous one) was a really insightful introduction to the mentality beh

Dogs, while descendants of the gray wolf, have been domesticated for tens of thousands of years. Leading a nomadic life to satisfy one's needs is also vastly different from sudden and abrupt change of one's environment - and even the relati

I used to write, until my edits were regularly reverted by people that had no clue about the subject(s) at hand. I then realized it wasn't worth the effort - I rarely refer to Wikipedia since.

Alternate title: Red Hat speeds up Red Hat Linux with 4 lines of code and systemd . I was wondering when the freedesktop dudes were going to make a "come back". Linus, in fact, does not oppose the user level approach [1]. I too, however,

It was already released back in August. I don't understand why you're getting downvoted, though; it must have been a very valid concern before Skype made any announcements.

In what universe is 'moving' a basic concept for dogs? PS. I probably didn't see what's funny here, yet I've been living with dog(s) since I was 5.

Not to nitpick, but not everybody wants "a million dollars" to leave everything behind and travel. There's a lot of things one can do with "a million dollars"; and yeah, I want some of that too.

There are alternatives to UNIX command line tools available on Windows (such as Powershell, for example), as well as ports of them (Cygwin etc). An editor as a replacement for those isn't really the best way to go.

I totally agree with this. Farmville is such a game-changer. Distributing whistleblower messages that expose corruption doesn't bear any significance in front of Facebook's vision of making everybody friends. <3
