I'm glad the OP brought this up and I think its an important topic for the HN 'community'. Innovation loves support. When innovation is supported, you get more innovation. On several occasions, I've seen a poor soul post a project on here

In general, I find that if the conversation stays civil, the topic retains the spotlight and is not overshadowed by personalities and hurt feelings. In other words, IME, you can 'cut through the bullshit' w/o being a dick and you'll achieve

They call it network effects: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_effect Notoriously difficult to dethrone. Craigslist being such a piece of crap for so long is an object lesson in the power of network effects.

I wonder if will it be possible to associate user defined clojurescript commands with arbitrary vim keybindings? That would be great! Also, I wonder if there will be support for user defined vim like operators and motions... Or, alternat

Funny, I just started using evil too. You might want to checkout prelude/projectile if you haven't yet. Also, less obviously for a vimmer, keychord.el. I'm able to use 'jk' for ESC, for instance. For others interested, the brief evil ma

Don't hate the playa, hate the game. They are using other people's money -- given the current system, they had a fiduciary responsibility to do this, unfortunately. Maybe the lesson is to not take other people's money, but investment really

It's a generator. It generates files. Typing it out would be less magical, but then it wouldn't be a generator. To me, git diff seems like a fine way to see what it did, tbh.

Thank you for your answer. If you're right and this is the Go way to do it (and I have no reason to doubt you), it's exactly what I was afraid of. I can see why for loops would just read better. Feels like a step in the wrong direction th

The very term "work from home" suggests separation. That's the wrong model. This is not about introverts and extroverts. Working with a remote team is not a choice about whether to collaborate or not. When a team is set up properly, remo

Kills me that otherwise intelligent consumers are unwilling to pay for something as expensive to create and as high quality as the new york times. Makes me want to give up on product development altogether. Seriously -- if that's not good
