I mean... that's kinda useless no? C# version. var app = WebApplication.Create(args); app.MapGet("/",() => "Hello World"); app.Run();

Package number is not enough. For example, .NET’s BCL is probably the largest of all the languages you shown where the other ecosystems would have to provide what it covers.

Are we talking classic asp or core? The former is dog shit while the latter is quiet nice.

You are saying this as if C# is not a ridiculous productive language.

300k is probably total comp. Meaning that base could be around 170k to 180k. Cut half of that in taxes. That's what you keep.

Most claimed “simpler” languages are only being used for backend systems, i.e go, BEAM languages. There’s a reason that any language where UI needs to be considered has used what C# has. The flow of code is simplified because you don’t want

I've never used Azure and always use .NET on AWS and have been for the past 5 years. I haven't hit any problem on it so far. .NET is not tied to a specific cloud provider.

Also hyperbole, dotnet supported other platforms years ago via mono.

C# uses “implicit context switch” on its async/await as it captures the current SynchronizationContext by default. On WPF/winforms/UWP and classic ASP there is one, so unless you other wise tell it, the await always comes bac

Great analysis. If OP doesn’t want Java, go C# as an alternative.

Container fast run or something like that right ? If you observe the commands it does, it simply mounts everything it needs on the container and uses the first stage of the docker file (which is usually a base image) to run your stuff.

I like this so much. In fact they are investigating the idea of #!/usr/bin/dotnet on a .cs file!

C# (CLR specifically) is not tied to windows and hasn't been for a while now. Perhaps the last time you checked was pre 2016 ?

What a weird case. I have successfully used dotnet core on these distros (alpine, centos, fedora, debian, ubuntu) without a single problem. If you don't mind, what distro are you using ?
