Oooh. I used to have a Radio Shack Color Computer, and I loved the 6809. So much cleaner than the 6502. Two 8-bit accumulators, A and B, which can be combined as a 16-bit accumulator, D. MUL, which sets D to A * B. Four 16-bit index

I do this, but one of the sites I don't care about has graduated to "do care about", and may have been using the same lightly customized password as Gawker. Lesson: I should pay more attention to which sites are important and need to be up

I was once told (in 1987) that the business plan for FedEx had been developed for a class, and it got a C because the professor believed nobody needed overnight delivery.

Northampton also has the property that Boston and NYC are both within driving distance, which means that, if you just can't find a job close to home, you can go job hunting in either of the cities. That would make a big difference to me if

How about this: if focus is in a password field, then you get a visual signal somewhere in the chrome--e.g., the color of the location bar changes. Something that HTML+JS just can't do.

Having written a SQL->SQL compiler ( ), I can state that the language is a mess. I still like it better than the NoSQL tools I've used, though. ( ) The company's product was, broadly speaking, a specialized analytics engine, with tempo

Might not be that much of an exaggeration, though. The AF probably uses it to simulate things like airframes and nuclear explosions; those are embarrassingly parallel, so you'll get full use of all the cores. At 8 cores per box [1], that

The original assertion, from the article, is that classes have no physical existence. The upstream comment claimed that a blueprint was an example of a physical object which was a class; I claim that the blueprint is not the class.
