Does your old Word version get security updates? If not, isn't that a huge security nightmare?

That would probably make it somewhat easy enough for most native English speakers who keep up with the times. It would still be difficult enough that a big majority of my peers (middle-aged+ non-native English speakers) would get it wrong

Do these TVs have different default settings for the EU market (GDPR)? If not, this seems like a great way to get slapped with handsome fines for GDRP noncompliance...

I was told in grade school that cancer is not contagious... well, turns out that was just lies to children. [1] This reminded me of the Radiolab episode “Devil Tumors” [2], featuring a similar kind of contagious cancer in Tasmanian Devils.

When an entity does not honour their commitments, the money starts going to another entity that appears more trustworthy. I'm not sure what kind of timelines you have in mind, but the above is clear if you look at the past few hundred

Yep. Honest business dealings such as paying your debts, honoring contracts, enforcing the law, and not being a total unpredictable dick are what, historically, have made nations great. Corrupt leadership can destroy that trust and hamstri

I don't believe serious vulnerabilities, patched or not, would stay secret for long even if you tried. Disclosing motivates vendors to build systems to ensure users update their devices as quickly as possible.

People tend to schedule meetings based on the time of day, not the sun. A 9am DST meeting is the same, sun-wise, as an 8am non-DST meeting.

I don't remember any recent redesigns. The Web Inspector has looked more or less the same since Safari 9 was released in 2015. [1] [1] https://webkit.org/blog/5718/10-years-of-web-inspector/

People keep saying this, but I don't see how Safari dev tools are all that bad. My needs are quite simple, but by and large things appear to work in a way very similar to Chrome. What would be the main things you usually do with the

What are your thoughts on whole-program optimizing compilers on this? Because, from what I've seen, with strong typing, the compiler can go to town and optimize everything , and makes JIT seem like a joke. Because, users almost alway

I really enjoyed the zero cost abstractions in Standard ML achieved by the whole-program optimizing MLton compiler (and I have a t-shirt to prove it). It's amazing how one can define clean, abstract, type-safe module hierarchies that

I think the point was that lidar is too low resolution. You must have very high resolution (in both time and space) to achieve L4 or L5; to accurately determine if a pedestrian is not paying attention, or if a bicyclist is looking to cross

I know exactly how agent forwarding and ProxyJump work, but I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean. ProxyJump proxies your ssh connection, so connecting from A to B via proxy X the connections go A->X and X->B. You ca

I know. That's why I asked. Chained agent forwarding will serve your keys just the same, so ProxyJump is not "a secure alternative that achieves the same outcome".
