DMCA compliance, or at least DMCA-as-interpreted-by-various-labels compliance. Shame about loved tracks, but the "my library" station is the best, and that will still work.

Don't blame the player, blame the game. Tax loopholes should be closed in law, Google and other corporations have a responsibility to their shareholders - why shouldn't they act within the law to save money? I remember seeing a fun flow-cha

I like that it has the capability to be an email queue build in, by supporting SMTP/SSL. Worth installing just for that, since that's the first thing lots of websites want a message queue for.

This article is specifically about building OTP releases that can be deployed in the "proper" way for live updates. "Live-upgrades to IRCCloud.com with Erlang/OTP" would be a better title :)

I'm currently building a web-based IRC client with bouncer-like functionality - ie, stays online when you close the browser, remembers backlog etc. Built github.com/RJ/playdar-core in erlang, after initially writing it in C++/boost

I'm finding it really hard to be sympathetic after hearing so many of these kind of stories. There's no way in hell I'd develop anything for iOS while the only way to distribute is via the app store. I have some serious cognitive dissonance

Sorry, but pre-9.0, Postgres replication is neither reliable nor easy to setup/admin. It's absolutely the worst thing about (pre-9.0) Postgres, and I'm glad the core team finally caved and made it a first-class feature. Slony caused us no e

I only have Spotify unlimited (no mobile support), not premium.. Even tho I don't get ads, it won't let me log in. Back to running it with wine, which runs adequately.

Only slight linux issue is you can't switch from nvidia to onboard graphics card without restarting X (last I checked). I have an older model 11.1" vaio TZ running linux atm, it's great.

This is great news, and rather unexpected. I'm running the cyanogen firmware on my nexus one specifically for the wifi hotspot app. (the multicolored trackball is just a bonus). I'll probably stick to the default firmware once 2.2 comes out

This is great, a lot nicer than the sparsely documented C api you get from ei and erl_interface. I've been looking at ways to build decent native desktop gui apps that hook into an erlang backend, this might do the trick (Qt).

Nice hack. Hacks involving strace and awk are fun, the only thing that could have improved this is to somehow involve netcat too.

This is awesome. The full lists for SF and London are here: http://github.com/mattb/flotsam/tree/master/github-recruitme... Looks like I'm languishing at #27 in the London list, better get back to work..

It's worth reading this* paper by the EFF about legal exposure of p2p developers, it talks about contributory infringement and related topics. * http://www.eff.org/wp/iaal-what-peer-peer-developers-need-kn...

There is an experimental OS X package, you'd need to ask on IRC for it atm (mxcl is crafting it). Windows packages will be next.
