you can spin similar instances very cheaply and billed only for the time openclaw actually runs in https://shellbox.dev ($0.02 for 2vcpu, 4gb ram, 50gb hdd, real linux with headless chrome etc)

Checkout shellbox.dev, you can do pretty much the same, automating it all bia ssh

How is this different than say bubblewrap and others?

Can be significantly cheaper on a vm that wakes up only when yhe agebt works, see for e.g. https://shellbox.dev

I don't like the positional keybindings. There is no real difference from regular keybindings configured with profiles for Qwerty, Dvorak, etc. In practice, it just means presenting them drawn into keyboards in a way that is hard to qu

"The child can install a virtual machine, create an account on the virtual machine and set the age to 18 or over." No, the vm is for grownups over 18.

Or... use something like https://shellbox.dev

Yeah, I'm telling it to use aws cli to spin up instances, configure them, start servers, read cw logs etc.

I use shellbox.dev to create sandboxes through ssh, without ever leaving the terminal

And shellbox.dev

This is exactly what I built shellbox.dev for. SSH in, it resumes where you left off, auto-suspends on disconnect. $0.50/month stopped. I have the same pattern - one box per project, never think about them until I need them.

Right idea but the reason people don't do this in practice is friction. Setting up a throwaway VM for every agent session is annoying enough that everyone just runs YOLO on their host. I built shellbox ( https://shellbox.dev

This matches my experience. I run a pay-per-use VM service (shellbox.dev) entirely on Hetzner auction servers with Firecracker microVMs. Sub-second boot, full Linux environment, SSH-only interface. The entire "cloud" layer is Fire

the shellbox VMs work great as sandbox for Claude-Code. It uses ssh to create and connect to the boxes -- very simple and quick to setup check it out: https://shellbox.dev

Excellent point. This may be better proposition for more expensive instances

But you cannot suspend these vps so easily and fast. Shellbox.dev aims to be frictionless in that regard

Currently the price is in the same ballpark as dev.exe ($20/month no suspendind) ans sprites.dev (higher for suspended butnlowe for running)
