Even ignoring vector magnitudes, wouldn't cosine distance as a measure of similarity only make sense if you're working with a convex set? That seems like it's far from a guarantee working in a high-dimensional space.

Technically "histology"—the microscopic study of tissues—also makes sense in the context of the lab (studying neurons), but it would be far less funny of a joke.

I’m being blunt, not hateful. Not everything needs to be wrapped in nice words and pleasantries for the sake of it. I find it hard to be constructive toward a project that I strongly feel should not exist and whose existence I believe will

I'd have a bit more (still not much) sympathy for them if they hadn't said they're actively targeting inexperienced investors. That's just inevitably going to fuck someone over. And yeah, a notice like that is about as v

I know the transcript says "experimental histology", but I think he actually says was "experimental epistemology", which is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of knowledge—hence the laugh at "experimenta

I think every suggestion you have there would fall under that very same lamppost: a linear model of computation going only one direction. Sussman details in this talk a different model he calls propagators that deal with information flow ba

It seems a bit disingenuous to omit Apollo 13, which failed on the way to the moon. The fact that it failed well before the landing attempt, speaks to the difficulty of even getting to the point where you can consider a landing.
