I bet the game he is talking about is Duke Nukem 3D and he is wrong. Saving the bullet holes only long enough for them to be enjoyable but not long enough to run out of memory was completely awesome touch.

But this is what software development is all about anyways... it's like complaining that they have to type a lot in order to get _anything_ working. My whining detector went off.

Wow, how is this Go's fault? Shouldn't it be obvious that one has to be very careful when patching upstream libraries and maintain a forked repository and/or submit patches upstream?

Yeah, there is just no way anybody who answers "they are both Russian" to Nabokov can beat him at this game. Even by accident.

I have mixed feelings about the write up. I think it gets clear pretty early on that the issue is in the NIC hardware at which point it is time to stop wasting your time investigating problem you can't fix and start contacting the vendor.

I find it cute how clueless mathematicians and physicists are about how clueless we (programmers) are. Weak crypto? Assume it is a puzzle!

With all due respect to Mr Schneier, I think this comparison is not 100% valid. There is a substantial difference between a terrorist threat from a lone mentally ill person and an organized group with ideology shared by thousands of people
