What do you mean by bandaging the standard? And why are extensions scary? In general none of the extensions change the behaviour of valid "standard haskell" (beyond adding a small handfull of new keywords, rendering those words illegal as v

I use my DX exclusively for reading scientific papers and stuff from Project Gutenberg, I just connect it over USB and copy PDFs/epubs/txt/html on there and everything works just fine. So yes, it works just fine without an Amazon account. G

Have you tried hg-git? I've been using it as my sole way of interacting (well, other than the web interface) with GitHub and I haven't run into any showstoppers.

Easy, the company that is depending on me is not physically there, watching and judging me. Sure they probably are watching and judging me, but as long they're not physically present that makes all the difference to my mind...

For longer and more interactive shell interactions you can use job control, if your shell supports job control (bash, zsh and pretty much every reasonable user shell in existence). Ctrl-Z will suspend vim and drop you back into your shell,

A counter example: He mentions graphing data as one option. I'm pretty sure people with excellent GNU plot skills can make a GNU plot script that does what I want in 10-20 mins, and I really can't be arsed to figure it out myself everytime.

Curriculum Vitae. You can think of it as a long form resume if I understand the US notion of a resume correctly. They are commonly used in place of resumes here (Netherlands, and presumably larger parts of the EU).

The problem is (probably) that you are watching github.com/yourprofile, which doesn't show the dropdown. When you go to github.com itself you will see the dropdown for selecting organisations in the top-left.

Sure, I'm just pointing out that their existence greatly diminishes the motivation to write a good (free) text editor for OSX. There are plenty of nice GUI editors for OSX, but most (all?) seem to be paid editors. The end result is that you

There is not a lot of incentive to create a free Notepad++-like text editor for OSX. OSX already ships with two excellent free text editors for the commandline (Emacs & vim) and there's GUI versions of both. Any Cocoa/OSX specific GUI e
