You have the power of the universe right between your ears, no computer necessary. It works in the dark, on the road, while drunk, without power, without money, but it's a blunt sword at first. It takes years of honing and sharpening and ex

I forget what it's from, but your last sentence reminded me of this (paraphrased). > McDonalds and Burger King. McDonalds has it hard - they have to do market research, explore new areas, test whether they work. Burger King has it a lit

I dislike that as well. It's a multifaceted coin with many things to discuss, but let's take an easy one to start. "It took me 3 minutes to run a mile." Neglecting history, it took you three minutes to run a mile. What about all the running

I like this. I like this a lot. I think far too often people take the concepts we study too seriously. Things get challenging, things get precise, but the moment the humor leaves, the creativity is gone. Think of how easy it would be to lea

I think the general attitude towards 'lowest price' in America is what could eventually bring the downfall of America (as we know it). I like thinking about the movement of the 'American system' as an evolution. Back in the day, all the sto

Built in flash is very harsh (it causes lots of shadows, and can wash areas out). When you use a good flash, the camera and the flash are more separated, which reduces the harshness a little, but you can point nicer flashes up in the air, a

It's just a theory, but I think some mathematicians intentionally 'unlearn' or 'forget' arithmetic when they start to understand what math is about because people who don't understand math will ask them if they add and multiply all day. The

Here's a story. I always wanted to make a CNC machine. I got a bunch of parts off Craigslist from a guy, got some stuff off eBay, I was in college at the time so I never really had time to do anything with it (and money was tight), so I cou

Cool! I don't really know what the heck it does, but I like seeing weird examples of Python's other side. I don't know much about the underworld of Python, but is this kind of stuff similar to what PyPy does? I started working on a visualiz

The thing I really like about the Haskell Fibonacci and that Python FizzBuzz is the ease of scale. Want the next value of fib? Grab it. Want to put more restrictions on fizzbuzz? Add them to this list. You build the sequence with only the n

That's not very good reasoning. If all software patents are bunk, so are many electrical engineering patents. If software is built on hardware, anything I represent in software can be 1:1 related to the digital circuit equivalent. It may be

Being 'bored' is the best part - setting a time to do 'nothing' during the day. There's always something to do, something to see, someone to talk to, but there's rarely 'nothing' to do.

The 'hot glue' is thin enough and needs to be hot enough to let you 'float' what you're drawing in mid air, hot glue would stay viscous for too long to let that happen.
