For me, I generally don't go far beyond the commands in the article, but I /do/ make a lot of use of git rebase -i in my branches.

I am a fan of mindfulness, but grounded in (a) faith or religious/spiritual framework. When it comes to 'corporate-style mindfulness', I like to think of the mindfulness as brushing a set of fake work-teeth that you may or ma

if they used something like Whisper for transcription, the quality of understanding what I'm saying would already massively improve.

I wish everyone who read the above comment would report back to confirm or deny that they also think of cheeseburgers now when Stairway to Heaven comes on.

To me it's been wild to be using whisper for stunningly good transcriptions and whenever I ask siri to set a reminder for "vacuuming", I end up getting a reminder to "fuck you". which /is/ funny, to be fai

I've been using phi4 a lot, in most cases to process incoming transcripts of recordings. based on keywords or keyphrases, these transcripts get sent with a custom prompt, or the prompt is in the transcript itself. I'd say it'

In my experience people will vent and complain and then just return to the previous normal. In some cases it's still mentally 'easier' to go back than to reassess fundamental beliefs.

In my own experience, I have all sorts of ways that I try to 'drag' the llm out of some line of 'thinking' by editing the conversation as a whole, or just restarting the whole prompt, and I've been kind of just doin

I thought the innovation was that these phrases are 'manually' inserted to force the model to consider different options. Did I get that wrong?

tbh I can see even some benefit from just the need to think ahead and put it into 'regular' words, and then not having to type all the non-ergonomic markup-soup that isn't entirely avoidable. EDIT: On the least-spectacular en

I've only started using LLMs for code recently, and I already tend to mentally translate what I want to something that I imagine is 'more commonly done and well represented in the training data'. But especially the ability to

I do agree with that. What I'm seeing (and building for myself) really boils down to 'for anything I am remotely uncomfortable trusting the AIs with, I trust them enough to conveniently present me the action or actions they want t

It doesn't have to be deterministic. Anyone who wants assurances would simply get a full plan of actions to take, and could edit the individual tasks before confirming their execution. Just like with a real assistant, one could set ver

It's good enough for me on an M1, 16Gb, and slow but good enough as a background job on my older intel mbp with 16Gb. I somehow expected it to not work on intel macs at all, so that's a freebie.
