I also enjoy the simplicity of JS. Pros: * Being single threaded makes concurrency simple. No need to think about mutex/semafor/channel/etc. * Everything is a pointer so no debate on whether to use pointer vs value for variab

Do you have any examples where prettier code is much less readable? I haven't really ran into that issue and have been very happy with prettier.

The main benefit of something like River is simplicity. With River your application might consist of two components, a database, and a code server. Such an architecture is really easy to test, develop, debug and deploy. Adding temporal.io

The case for Sam is the success of OpenAI while Sam was CEO. If the status quo is wild success, then keeping the status quo is a good thing.

Are engineers compensated with cash? I wonder if the Sam Altman version of OpenAI is more lucrative for employees than the alternative OpenAI. So as a result of the recent changes, there is an employee exodus to places with greater compen

It's a win because it means no build step. You could also say that JSX is a custom, non-standard DSL.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Are people penalized in some way for a history of mis-spending their money? For example, an individual who could afford a loan in theory, but gambles away all their money at a casino and misses loan payments.

On web, an HTML first approach in many cases can mean a better user experience. Whether to use an HTML first approach or something heavier like React depends on the product being built.

Building websites with React also has its pitfalls and using React means introducing a lot of complexity. If you aren't already using NodeJS on the backend, it's probably best to avoid ReactJS unless it's actually necessary.

I've noticed this at companies I've worked at. Either at the team level, org level, or even the company level. I've observed it from White, Chinese and Indians. I think there's just a human tendency of in group bias.

Github Copilot has been really valuable to me and has had meaningful, positive impact on my life. Crypto hasn't made me more productive in any way. To me, it's had the same utility as an online casino.

I agree, but shoplifting is on the rise and becoming so prevalent that it is hurting normal law abiding citizens. I'm not sure what it is, but more should be done to deter shoplifting.
