There's no "agree to disagree" when he's telling you not only what made him unhappy but what you could have done better. This reply just looks more like you're the kind of person who doesn't pay attention.

"nothing to gain" has interesting intersections with domain-wide cookies when mistakes are made.

The anti-fraud aspects of a card are usually checked as well by cashiers at least. I'm not sure this would be accepted.

Many of the leaders of DEFCON work for the government. I've come to suspect that it's 'pwned' and is now revealing its form as a recruiting tool.

Ralph Langner did most of the research then Symantec refused to credit him. Also on many points the wikipedia article disagrees with your statements. Care to disclose if you have a vested interest? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuxnet

I'm not sure that it follows that the point of the US is to extract taxes indefinitely from those who benefit from a well constructed country. If the structure of the country becomes hostile to a person, they should be able to vote with the

I too had a similar experience. Asked a question about cron in a newsgroup and got a response from Vixie. It was a small world then, perhaps it will be again as the SNR gets better.

I'm not familiar with the STL implementation, but it seems the pop would need to be coherent with the push in an empty stack. Like if a thread was trying to pop the only entry while another was trying to push, 'intuitively' there'd be a rac

I agree. It looks like their read implementation means that every thread pops the same item off as well, since they clone to a temp variable.

This is a brilliant idea, perhaps even startup worthy. Integrating the quality monitoring into the TCP|UDP/IP stack wouldn't be that hard and shouldn't have too much battery impact.

I explained this to some as, "values from from right to left across the equals sign. In this case 10 flows into a, 20 flows into b, then the value of b, 20, flows into a, making a 20 and b 20." I think it's a matter of saying what '=' means

That assumes that what's being done is creating value. This often isn't the case because of dysfunctional product management / customer development.

Looking at how this worked was quite interesting. I hadn't really played with the JS console before. Thanks for making a contest that wasn't totally secure. =)

The goal of a country is to continue improving the quality of life of its citizens. Grouping working and consuming in that is totally bogus. Working (theoretically) produces things which should, all in all, improve the quality of life. Cons
