This is noteworthy because it's an act that favors the company at the consumer's expense--like how grocery stores put necessities on the periphery, forcing exposure to other items; or how cable companies gradually raise prices ove

FWIW I didn't get that impression. Seemed to me like the author, conscious of the women's holiday today, used the concept of social awareness as a segue into ageism.

I haven't used an e-reader in many years but I remember it being pretty clunky (kinda like a flip-phone interface). It seems like modern devices ought to have have worked out most of the kinks by now. I should try one out.

This article is pointing a finger at the United States. Why are you pointing only at Obama?

This is a great point. I've taken a similar approach. The essay about Abraham Lincoln isn't really designed to teach you about the 16th president of the US--it teaches sentence structure, argumentation, clarity, research, etc. The

Don't forget Grantham University and University of Phoenix. They specifically prey on veterans for their GI Bill money.

I've tried and failed going back school enough times to know it doesn't work for me. Certification courses & clinics have proven worthwhile in the past though.

I don't have a degree and I'm 10+ years deep into my career. What has started to stand out for me in recent years is that there are holes in my experience that my college-educated peers don't have to deal with. Granted I neve

I don't think Mojang ever tried to actively stop the mod community like, say, Rockstar did. I would say Minecraft does have modding support in the sense that the installation files are an open book, inviting unlimited modding opportuni

FWIW I've seen this kind of thing at the local grocery store too. The name brand price tag reads "39¢/oz" and the generic right next to it reads "$3.79 per each". I can't be certain that it's maliciou

Maybe I'm misreading the chart but it looks like it represents total hours. I don't know what the questionnaire looked like but, at least on the representation side, it appears that overtime is not considered.

Why are we treating the jaywalking here with such a light touch? If the pedestrian had crossed at a crosswalk, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.

This is either an opinion or PR piece. It's one-sided right off the bat and continually reminds the reader that this company is very obviously bad.

Exactly. Most of my coworkers are very satisfied with their low-effort/low-risk jobs. I do like the stability it offers but it's so depressing selling my precious time for cash.
