I have done this. The printers were actually the least satisfying things to smash, as they’re surprisingly study! It took a lot of whacking and prying to get the thing open. The ceramics, such shattered into dozens of pieces, were by far th

During YC, we relentlessly practice our “two-sentence description.” It’s roughly of the form “ACME makes soup taste better. We do it with a seasoning that chefs add to their broth.” That is, what you do, and how you do it (or an example.) Y

I’ll say that this example doesn’t convince me that chatgpt is a substitute. I find it downright confusing. We start off with “imagine a magic castle”, then a magical backpack that lets you put things in and take them out in a different loc

I recently built something similar. I have a web app which logs json data to a file. Then I use vector.dev to tail the file. Vector has a clickhouse integration so it automatically pushes logs into the DB. I also have it automatically push

Appreciate the feedback! If your business generates a lot of transactions, to the point that you have a full time accounting or engineering staff whose job it is to wrangle 200MB excel files or complicated sql queries, then Journalize is fo

I blogged about this recently - here's a DB schema that can do all of the double entry stuff with about 2 tables. I also have example queries for balance sheets and other useful bits: https://blog.journalize.io/posts&#x

UIs are way harder. Back in the day, you could drag and drop form controls in VB and bind the data to a database without writing a single line of code. Today, every step of that requires boilerplate. Backend, fronted, rest api, and so on. D

Understood - it sounds like the idea of a “minimal working code example” will give misleading results. I’ll pay more attention to this when testing, I appreciate it.
