Smiled through the whole read. Only thing that needs to be revised is 'genetic warfare'. That is definitely not a future problem. It's a very very old one. Also, while I think "prescience" would most certainly be in god's vocabulary, I th

I think "deficit of trust" would have been a better sell. The future is inevitable. The immediate future being an ideal place to start having kids is a notion that's hard to trust. Potential mates are hard to trust as well :) It's hard to

It doesn't matter to a lot of the people that use it. I don't store their passwords and I pipe everything going on in the server to the user's web browser. User's are invited to snoop TTY's. But yes I agree totally. It's meant to work wi

I'd say that support is coming, but everything currently available on the menu are things that I actually use for dev work. If I find myself in a situation where I suddenly need to support CentOS, Debian, whatever, then the first thing I'll

I built SliceApp.com to solve this problem. Spent the past couple week reworking it. It will work with Slicehost, Linode, Rackspace Cloud...anything running Ubuntu accessible via SSH. Actively working on it and open to suggestions on what w

It depends on the job. I don't have any problem going to a non luxurious part of the world thats inhospitable. Not even for an extended period of time. The only thing that would keep me from going are my 'opinions' about middle east foreig

I closed my Wells Fargo account a few months ago after doing business with them for close to 10 years. The thing that forced me to leave was a terrible experience I had selling my car. I sold my car online and received a check from the buye

Just a heads up: I took a demo quiz and it worked fine. Great idea for a product. However I think I'm too competent for the test because I was able to run something I probably shouldn't have been able too.

Possibly just poor writing on my part, but I was trying to convey a story where passive aggressiveness and personal issues coupled with poor planning produced a failed project. One that took too long to fail. edit: I actually didn't consi

PostgreSQL has always been a feature heavy rdbms, but I read this particular capability as a sign that 2010 is going to be a year where a lot of OS shops are going to start trying out PG. Especially with MySQL's future still up in the air

All parties involved seem super flakey. Even though he was made out to be the 'villian' and is in fact probably a douche, the guy running the zen dojo or whatever sounds like he has a good thing goin. This story has given me the idea of col

Yea, as of now there's no way around that. I'm working on adding 'sudo' logic into the script, but that doesn't seem any less risky security wise. Users are welcome to use something like whowatch or a tty spy to view the progress of the scr
