Are people actually required to use ELK? What are your use cases? The interface is completely cluttered and it takes loads of resource and it feels like it's waiting to be replaced with lighter and more focused products. Graylog (thoug

Unwanted conditions should be handled before handling the process in a peaceful condition. Not sure it makes much sense to indent everything within "if" and if you forget to "else", you've just potentially hidden a

It's far easier to do it on perl. $output = `ls -lh /usr`; I don't think I can remember all the boilerplate of using the wrong language for the job if I only happen to write that once a month or less. Even PHP is easy. $outpu

That's not how pricing works. Just because "you" can/are willing to pay doesn't mean the pricing is right. What other software/service with the amount of users of Adobe charge $50/mo? The pricing is set ba

If you have ever built a responsive design, you will not want to use "style" attribute ever.

Everytime I see comments that praises PostgreSQL on top of MySQL without any explanations, I tend to think they're trying to bury a product from Oracle than from a real need of one over the other.

What use case that new panes can't fix that you need a non tmux session for?

It's a really terrible experience for a new terminal user where the color theme is black/white, fonts are very small and bash comes with minimal config and sessions are lost on disconnect. I don't see how the default is never

Sorry Windows will always be fighting with its own legacy, it cannot move forward. I don't know why people insist on using Windows. It's not good on desktop, not good on servers but good for games.

Too bad ruby didn't take the place of python for popularity but I still see strong fan base around ruby. Maybe people got into python when Google took it for a serious use just like people got into git because of Linus but figured it w

I don't know how by default, login shells aren't invoked through tmux in 2021. Without it, when your connection gets hung, you lose that session on a remote server and practically you can't get something done through unreliab

Not a CUI but Seatable has been a tremendous help to keep my to-do in a easy to use web interface that supports mobile pretty well. You can also self host it.

The point is, did you ever have to debug systemd because it was systemd that was broken and not other parts?

So, you ask your designers and managers to check data through phpMyAdmin and let them edit there? Even by myself as a developer, I handle my to-do list with Seatable and apparently, using a raw db isn't comfortable at all. That's
