That's a job for the government, it already has a lot of reputation data about everyone.

That actually sounds like an ideal system for providing opportunities to low-wage workers without locking them into low wages indefinitely

Maybe just for now? Imagine if China start hiring all the laid off engineers. The US companies would need to start hiring again, paying even more than the first round.

This looks interesting but I think the "mostly built by AI" doesn't go well with the HN crowd. Did you (or the AI) code the editor too? That's great. If it was another VSCode fork I wouldn't upvote.

Or you are born to a developing country and get a remote job as a software engineer. Not much competition (at least until 2022).

It is clear we are talking about modern digital ads. Ads in magazines aren't as bad, but manipulating public opinion to sell the ads were/are. That's what Google/FB do at an absurd large scale right now.

Governments can talk to corps. But corporations corrupt politicians and poison the public opinion to prevent that.

Yes, that was quite the weird ad. I read HN every day so I don't think I missed it but why advertise the "training course" a couple weeks after the application ended? Quite suspicious.

That's an interesting problem. I'm thinking about creating a local-first RSS Reader that syncs using github. It seems doable to create a personal feed based on my feed and publish it also to github.

I would never work for free for a Bank that might sue you for finding bugs. Use your time more wisely.

I have been feeling LLM burnout and favoring code it all my self after a year of LLM assistance. When it gets things wrong it is too annoying. Like, I would get mad and start to curse it, shouting loud and in the chat.

That's already the case if you call compilers/interpreters "AI". Just a new higher level abstraction for code.

I'm currently 37, I hope it doesn't start to get worse again anytime soon. I never used glasses regularly, btw. Always had the impression that would weaken my eyes long-term.

Lit and React are quite different, there is no JSX and lit-html is greatly integrated with web standards. I like your approach but if much, your platform makes less use of web standards than Lit, not more.

Tipiirai, thank you very much for patiently replying all these comments. Tailwind is a terrible abstraction, nobody should be shamed for saying that and the people not used to modern CSS or the ones that can't organize code, well, they

I don't think the price is worth selling their algorithms. TikTok will leave the US and fight for instagram marketshare all around the world. Meta will regret supporting this move, I think.

The idea behind postponing polishing is that if you can’t build a strong foundation using the skills you’re most comfortable with (coding), there’s little point in starting with the harder parts. It’s better to make as much progress as poss

I don't think there is a rule for that? At least not in my case. My eyesight got worse really fast out-of-nowhere when I was like, 15 years old? And since then it didn't change anymore. I got myopia, after a few years of too much

Basically, for now, LLM-generated music is only great for the person creating it and dreaming about overnight success. My sister was sure she would be a famous DJ after generating a few songs that my mom would swear it was the best thing sh
