A bit off-topic, but anyone know what came of Panasonic's "cyclonic wave" technology? Does it work as well as it's advertised? It seems nice in theory so I'm kind of confused why it doesn't seem to be used in m

Yeah I tried that at some point but I didn't figure out what to feed it to make a smaller executable that would still run. Not sure what I might've done wrong unfortunately, it's been a few years.

Do you know of a good way (if any) to shrink the size of the DOS header as much as possible on MSVC? (Like to remove the "This program cannot be run in DOS mode" notice, and other things you don't need on Windows.)

Interesting idea... are you sure? Do you want to pay extra fees to transfer it internationally, have to deal with sanctions/etc. depending on where you're sending it, pay taxes on it when you acquire it, have a copy sent to the go

I like the comic and it's definitely hilarious, and but it's not necessarily an apt comparison. Imagine the same situation with a bank holding your money. Are you paying them? (I assume you're not... I guess if you are, you p

The network was hardly the culprit in my explanation. How much is the cost of 4TB of georeplicated storage do you think? Surely you have to at least pay for the storage itself? So like $300-$400 at least if it's replicated 3-4x? And I

Where does this meme of "storage is essentially free" come from? A 4TB drive is already like ~$100 and that's without any fault tolerance. Now purchase some for yourself, geo-replicate it across the world, make it be online 2

It might not be an "affirmative" defense, but to my understanding that doesn't imply it's a right. A "right" as I understand it is something that is illegal for others to violate, and that government generally

I'm fairly sure Windows does upload at least some hashes if you have it enabled in Windows Defender (which it is by default). Don't expect Ubuntu does this though.

I feel like the problems you're citing (inability to simply roll back, etc.) aren't really Arch problems specifically—you'd have them in any traditional distro (like Debian) too, right?
