It's not the prettiest word, but just saying he called it cancer leaves out important context. He wasn't trying to bash Linux itself so much as (his interpretation of) its GPL license. If its license had been different (say, MIT o

I guess we're saying the same thing then, because my point wasn't that you'd never build anything new, but that your old stuff would remain just as useful and you wouldn't need to destroy any part of it.

You're saying it's better to get something wrong and fix it than to just do it right the first time?

I would've thought in an ideal world you would do things sufficiently well the first time so that you don't have to tear down the old work and redo it again. Not the opposite.

So basically they're paying 30-40% of the salary for a payment insurance service? That seems a little... excessive? Just how often are payments missed to warrant this kind of a premium?!

It appears most people here have't read the article. Unlike what the title states, Windows is not losing the ability to automatically find drivers. Take note of this bit: > The option to manually browse your PC for a driver is stil

I fully understand that and that's still clearly still better than going straight to HTTP, which it's already doing.

Thanks, but then what do I do about HTTP-only sites? Why can't it default to HTTPS and then auto-fallback to HTTP when HTTPS connections fail for sites that aren't in the known-HTTPS list? It seems like a logical thing to do inste

Does HTTPS Everywhere actually work for you? It's utterly useless for me as far as I can tell. Try going to some site (say, example.net) in Chrome and watch it just load HTTP.

I don't get how XOR helps here? Isn't this stuff based on timing + length information?

I asked this as a Windows question rather than an x86 question. I was wondering if there's any Windows API that could help with this. (This includes kernel APIs.)

A bit off-topic, but do you happen to know if there is a way on Windows to intercept syscall instructions? (aside from dynamic analysis/recompilation/etc.?) If there isn't, I assume that's why cheat engines do this?

A few days ago someone here point out the numbers aren't actually "receive-only" for IBANs either, but anyway, the point you're making is a separate point from the one being made here. If anything, it's the opposite

Don't forget he gave a TED talk warning the world about the next pandemic. And obviously he knows a thing or two about high-level issues dealing with epidemics (which extend beyond just the medicine). Why would they just ignore him?

The plus operator in the page appears to be binary rather than unary. I've never used it. Is that affected as well? (Though I'm confused why AND is necessary. Isn't it implied normally?)

I think I miscommunicated my thoughts, but I was neither trying to say there aren't left-handed folks who push, nor that there aren't ones who pull with a weird pose. Rather, I was wondering if these are actually needed, or if one

Do you actually push instead of pulling for English as a leftie? I ask because you definitely don't need to "push instead of pull" for RTL languages if you're right-handed (though I'm not suggesting nobody does; I&#

You're right about the slowness! I just noticed it now. I'm confused why though -- I don't actually see it spawning a lot of processes, and the slowness is far beyond what could be explained by that. Even a single process cal
