I love that they have moved the whole address bar to the bottom of the screen, where my thumb can reach it easily.

I was also looking for a Google alternative and recently discoverd them on pons.com and am very happy with the results which are often DE <-> EN.

One can see the world more realistically without being depressed. Depression IMHO isn't necessarily a byproduct of a pessimistic worldview. If anything, nihilism (if we consider it a pessimistic worldview) had helped me to be more real

I agree that the distinction is not so clear; contrary to my statement. However, I think the distinction gets clearer over time. Nowadays, I try to prioratize agenda-free software over agenda-driven ones as much as possible.

This is a common observation in Iran, specially regarding governmental activities. The whole country is littered with ads and propaganda.

After switching to Archlinux and putting Windows 10 in a Qemu VM my life got way easier. One is driven by the corporation behind it to form and change user behaviour in order to make more money, and the other is made by like-minded hackers.

Assuming that this is a Cuba, Iran or Syria problem is misleading, even though it renders most of things that I've made in my free time useless. Having free access to open source code is important. As a developer I'd try to self-h

Thanks for quoting Vaclav Havel. That was exactly what I was looking for. My father was a revolutionist. The amount of harm and distress it caused to him and his children is beyond imagination. It damaged us beyond repair. That's somet

> How could you possibly expect to control people saying things about your blog on a remote webserver? You're right. My point would make sense only in case of an opt-in solution.

How one would actually pay their server bills with data except by selling that to third parties [replace with your favorite agency]?

You're right. However, it only enables the original authors to edit their comments. A moderation is about a third party being able to "moderate" the posts.

A true decentralized solution would have no moderation, no edit, no deletion. It would be basically a 4chan on every single page.

The technical problem here is way easier to solve than the social one. You'd want to avoid having hatespeech or some attack being planned on URLs of your blog. This is by definition a tricky problem. Should moderation follow us to the

I use WhatsApp for one single reason: it is not yet blocked in Iran so I can talk to my loved ones. Signal and Telegram for the rest.

I remember when I read that article. It was a great idea. When they sold WhatsApp to Facebook however, I realized that this is potentially the fate of any for-profit business.
