Yes, customers will love anything that helps them. You can get customers to love you by adding any kind of automation for stuff they had to do by hand up to that point. Does this mean there should be 10 articles per day shared about "I

So what's the famed MediaTek based Pine64 device? And who are these Pine people, exactly?

OG Pinephone is 4.5 years old. And it definitely has a very different level of SW support than when it was released. There were also several HW revisions based on community feedback. Far from a scam.

H.264 video decoding is mainline for RK3566. Pretty sure I compiled and tested ffmpeg v4l2-requests branch for my Pinetab 2 recently and it worked (with wayland). Yeah, RK356x has mainline support for VP8/H.264/MPEG2 decoding. ht

All of these devices are already usable quite well for some purposes. Pretty much the level of support follows how long they were available. But neither is particularly unusable.

Based on something "real" like scam/fraud metrics, or just "this is what Tim Cook wants me to think"? Both stores are walled gardens. One onboarding experience: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3

Used to be simple to workaround this with basic web APIs (el.value = 'whateverIwant'), until this newfangled web framework from Facebook broke the web.

It's pretty clear what it means, based on the goals of the license: To allow the user to easily replace/modify the (L)GPL licensed (part) of a program. For GPL, that means you can only include GPLed code if you make the whole pr

Yes, "bare" single-user VM with no publicly available services is something you barely have to manage if at all. It's not like it's bare metal where you have to deal with it failing. 4 rented/hosted offsite backups

You don't just sniff a 48Gbit/s protocol as a random hacker. That's not what happens in the real world. A real-time scope that could do that is in the $1mil dollar range. At best a random hacker will reverse engineer the bina

You can do what you love and have no money. Depends on what you love. Seems like this guy loves creating money making businesses. Someone banging out some obscure GNU code, because he loves it, will not be bathing in stacks of $1000 bills.
