If company is trying to hire people in other countries/cultures to save some buck, they should be mindful that communication may be a bit more of an issue, and try harder, too. Otherwise they'll have the same issue after hiring an

Yeah. My "budget" for similar scale project (sw, fw, hw, enclosure co-design) in high school 24 years ago was about $200. I'd have loved to have these kinds of resources/lab tools access. I even made [private, so that to

Pinebook Pro boots in about 10s to DE and that's RK3399. Pretty sure RK3588 can boot even faster, considering the advantage of PCIe/nvme storage that can run at > 3GiB/s. Software load times stop being a constraint at thos

I don't understand the relevance of the question. I thought the therad is about innovation, not "startups" (what's that? american style "supergrowth or you go to trash" VC funded companies?)

Not envious of multi-billionaire's companies gathering capital, IP, knowledge and infrastructure for huge scale modern day private Stasi apparatuses. Just bitter.

Europe is quite varied, you'd probably need to look at individual countries and do a more fine grained comparison between those, because they have their own differing policies on both military spending (some just buy gear from outside

Encrypted data are noise now, maybe, but may be decryptable in the future with advances in computing. So all this depends on what you worry about.
