I'm sure you can find a better example, because Mozilla's goal needs continuous maintenance. If they don't continue providing a competitive browser, Chrome might start playing the role of the IE of old, free to disregard tho

OK, you want to be able to respond to a query like "when did I have that new cool hamburger?" Something like that? I'd think you usually could since you do have other memories aside from what the flashcards gave you (I hope

Why would you, upon encountering the concept of a basilisk, decide it's perfectly fine to spread them?

My brain quickly gets bored with any attempt to "track" myself, even if it's finance. If you're like that, I'd advise you to first make concrete how you're gonna use the result -- which report-commands you

You'd think so, but that shouldn't be necessary with spaced repetition. It's the same how you'd memorize a verse such as the following: > Roll forth, my song, like the rushing river, > That sweeps along to the mig

Telegram, Twitter, Mastodon, Matrix, IRC... anything that permits bots. The fun part is that when you write a new bot you'd tend to just look for the site's rss.xml or atom.xml. That file must exist. And since that file still ex

Ironically, Usenet seems to be growing more popular! For all the same reasons alternative social media are growing. Google Groups shut down for good three days ago, so their fingers are out of the pie, but humans haven't used that for

Yes, you wouldn't use a date. A more likely structure would be: - the front of a flashcard shows a photo from 20 June and the back shows a photo from 21 June - the front of another flashcard shows that same 21 June photo and the back

Interesting. What's this hole? I used Reddit and HN for a decade without complaint (well, the quality of Reddit nosedived a few months ago). Seems to me like they can last pretty long without perverse incentives. Bbcode forums have oft

What is this reasoning? A scientific hypothesis can fit in one sentence on the back of a napkin, certainly it can in a youtube short too.

Doesn't change the fact that whatever probability you previously assigned to finding Planet 9, it should be one fifth of that now. (Sort of. Not so drastic if you have strong reasons to think there is a Planet 9)

It's strange, the absence of padding gives me room to breathe, because if I can quickly scan a menu with my eye then I feel I have good overview and control over affairs. With more padding, you cannot do the same scanning motion with

This thread is discussing tabs a lot. So I want to ask why do tabs need to be visible constantly in the first place? https://edstrom.dev/wgfjk/no-tabs-in-firefox

I have neither! No visible tabs at all. Just cycle tabs with Ctrl+Tab hotkey. This is clean. Once in a month I want some kind of overview, but extensions like Tab List can give me a popup menu. The tabs needn't be visible constantl
