How trival are we talking? I haven't merged someone else's code, but I'd think that for sufficiently trivial patches, the maintainer just reads it and copy-pastes most of it manually to the relevant place in the code. This se

No, that's absurd. More likely a different factor. Some googling and lo and behold: starting with Germany, the universities of several European countries cancelled their agreements with Elsevier, pressuring Elsevier to give them better

I would counter your evolution point. Evolution hates brains and wants them to be as small as possible, because they cost a lot of energy. Saving energy is the reason our brains rely so much on biases and heuristics.

But it's interesting that Nyxt is planning to to have WebExtensions in addition to their own extension system. Feels like the sort of out-of-the-box thinking that maybe didn't occur to Mozilla back then (but I don't know the

Exactly. A math study is not a "study" in the sense of "hey i saw a funny pattern in some data maybe it's a sign of my pet theory" - it's literally already proven when published. There's nothing more to do

Have you used digital zettelkasten and if so what were your issues? Most of these functionalities exist as far as I know except for AI summarization, but I think with the nature of zettelkasten, you don't need that.

It always bothered me growing up, the lack of elbow-operable doorknobs and other measures for what would seem to be basic hygiene in public spaces. Cities are disease kettles, it never was appropriate to design them with the same low hygien

Uh, dude. If you read the book, you'd see the Golem of Prague isn't a parable about frequentist models specifically, it's about all models, period. He calls his Bayesian models golems all the time.

SG1 is also an unusually easy thing to write fanfiction for, especially cross-overs with other universes... because you know, stargate. Not only that, the stargate is top secret, so knock-on effects are limited. The characters fill roles in

The F-Droid issue mentioned nothing about blobs as I recall, the reason was they want to be able to push security updates in a timely manner. F-Droid makes it far too easy for people to keep using an old version.
