There's an application on the windows store called Nebo that does writing and write recognition and claims to do drawing recognition too (although I rarely use it; I wanted to use it for math but that is extremely dodgy so far; not sur

Add bibliography=path/to/library.bib (and optionally specify a csl for bibliography formatting; I like econometrica) in frontmatter yaml. Insert citations with @bibcitekey. compile with --pandoc-citeproc filter.

Are there any updates to Juno forthcoming that don't butcher the existing install of Atom on the system? I use Atom with Hydrogen for Python and R, and was curious about julia and made the mistake of opting for the 'batteries incl

I find it horrifically verbose. Granted, there are a decent number of aliases, but some pretty basic stuff requires 3 words separated by hyphens. Way easier to just use bash on WSL on windows 10 machines.

Fair enough. Mechanically, all you're ever doing when estimating a parameter vector using OLS is projecting Y onto the span of X, and that requires linearity in the sense that Y = XB. But far too often I've met people who've

It is actually wrong. The assumption is that y is a linear combination of the covariates in X. You can run regressions like y = x + x^2 (i.e. you permit a quadratic relationship) just fine.

After Python and Bazel, I fully expect a programming framework named 'Wanda' to crop up somewhere. Cleese would be so confused.

Shafir and Mullainathan wrote a book called "Scarcity" that articulates an expanded version of this idea. Highly recommended.
