This is the case. I won't comment on your "hundreds of thousands" figure because the number of Cloud customers was a closely guarded secret at least when I worked there, but yes one DB per tenant, dozens to hundreds of DBs pe

They don't, you're responding to speculation which is just outright wrong. Jira and Confluence is single tenanted databases, unless something fundamental has changed at Atlassian in the past 4 years. Source: worked at Atlassian, o

Title is a bit misleading, there's no insider info here. This is all stuff we knew from the official statements, the blog post, reddit and twitter.

I disagree completely with your conclusion and I offer the same level of evidence you did.

CNN has spent the last 6 or 7 years transforming itself from a credible news organisation into an activist organisation. Of course this has a lower ceiling on subscriber numbers.

It's incredibly depressing how common this is in the real world, but I can tell you from experience that this NEVER happens in Atlassian production systems.

Jira cloud became much more complex when they went all in on AWS. The reason for the cloud/server fork 4 or 5 years ago was so that cloud engineers could couple to a zillion AWS services without having to build back any backwards compa

I ordered a bunch of stickers from AvE, my one and only purchase on Etsy. It seems ridiculous that he should have to package my stickers with tracking to get them to me, and I live on the other side of the world in the midst of a shipping c

Yeah there were a lot of home grown tools for managing it, and some self-made async migration infrastructure built into the Jira code base.

I haven't worked at Atlassian in a a few years but when I was there Jira and Confluence cloud ran a Postgres DB per tenant in huge ECS instances (hundreds of DBs per VM). No managed databases. I can't imagine this has changed.

Twitter users. Twitter employees. Twitter investors. Twitter board members. Elon fans. Lots of people. Weird question. If you don't care, move on.

There is absolutely no chance that this was Elon's decision. He was pushed out, most likely because of his recent shitposting about turning the Twitter office into a homeless shelter.

This kind of thing is why I think Google's answers (not search results, the snippets with big bolded answers to questions) are dangerous. They're automatically generated from some pretty naive parsing of text from sources of dubio

I just took a very quick look at the subreddit (absolutely awful stuff BTW, who finds this crap funny?) and already found 2 instances of people sharing "real" stories in the comments to joke posts. Should both of these be taken as

I don't think something presented as fact in the comments to a joke is always going to be taken as a joke. Lots of people post their (supposedly) factual war stories in the comments of The Daily WTF and similar websites.

This doesn't seem like a joke, it seems like a guy outright spreading misinformation. Not sure what was the point of the UUID preamble, his "joke" has nothing to say about UUIDs.

Based on your posts so far I don't think you're genuinely interested, I think you're trolling. But even if we assume you are, you need to hear it - you have an attitude problem.

It's a shame so many tech companies think they need to be always "seeking investment". I don't see any reason this couldn't have been a nice little lifestyle business, but no, we need to feed the investors with boun

If you really followed thousands of banned accounts perhaps you need to take a close look at the company you keep. That should send alarm bells ringing regardless of your perception of Twitter's biases.
