This is silly IMO. Technologies like HTTP and Wasm are truly excellent tools for cross platform software delivery and browsers are an ideal sandboxed execution environment. This idea that the web should only be for straight up HTML document

There’s a meaningful amount of blame here that sits squarely at the feet of Apple. 1. They produce the world’s buggiest browser by far. Look at this chart that shows the number of bugs that ONLY OCCUR IN A SINGLE BROWSER. https://

I take it you don’t follow the European defence industry news but the wheels are very much turning already. They are planning an independent future and are hyper aware that it is now official US nation strategy priority to try and destroy t

There’s a digital euro launching next year AFAIK which is designed to replace Mastercard and Visa. It’s been in the works for ages and is coming online at a pretty critical time it seems. It comes with a full digital wallet infrastructure p

Can you talk more about this… I was under the impression that was the EXPLICIT reason [1] why it was added in the first place or did I misread your comment? It’s also something the Lit team uses like here: https://www.npmjs.com&#

I think that as an employee it’s good to have a clear failure case study to point to from a large and credible organisation that this idea your boss has to fire everyone and just LLM everything isn’t going to work the way you expect it to.

I actually think shadow DOM plus CSS import assertions are an incredibly good combination and make it totally suitable as a sensible default.

Apple absolutely does allow wholesale data harvesting by turning a blind eye to apps that straight up embed spyware SDKs. This isn’t some hypothetical or abstract scenario, it’s a real life multi billion dollar a year industry that Apple al

Unfortunately this is more misdirection from Apple. When they were asking for community input as to what developers wanted to be a part of interop 2025 that then had to go for a further non-public round with the browser makers. Apple then p

I don’t see how this really changes the underlying problem of the device pays on you and then they sell that information to the highest bidder? I’m not reaching for a financial report to fix that.

That’s not how the law is structured. You CAN do that no problem but it’s then WHAT you do WITH that which is where the law comes into play. If it’s just for security purposes then there’s no problem I believe.
