I just tested this with our internal development tool that tightly integrates with the docker CLI and docker-compose. Everything worked immediately out of the box. I'm fairly amazed because we heavily rely on specific output from many

My main problem with mini-splits is that they are just ugly. I can't get past it. Neither can my wife nor others I've talked to. My engineer brain loves the idea, but I just don't want them on my walls nor do I want five diff

Haha sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that. It's a tiny button though and not obvious. Was just taking a guess because it can be easy to miss and some of our users did at first. I first opened my personal Linear account in 2020 a

Strongly agree with this one. If you can move do it now. It only becomes dramatically harder to move away from Jira as time goes on. Linear is essentially a mildly opinionated and hyper fast version of Jira. It will be immediately familiar

Linear definitely does not force you to use Cycles. Cycles aren't even enabled by default. You have to specifically go into your team and enable it. It isn't a global setting either. It's a per team. So one team can do it whi

Both of my cars patched last night with “Bug fixes” as the changelog. I don’t think I’ve seen an update that only said that before. I suspect that was this “recall”. If that’s the case, then the recall (patch) is probably mostly done by now

The word recall is misleading. It’s a software update. My cars both updated last night. I’m guessing it was this patch. If that’s the case then the “recall” is probably largely already done.

Unfortunately this was already a given since there were reports of users secrets (canary tokens) being used. They got the secrets for sure. It just wasn't clear how many they got. It doesn't matter though, you have to assume if yo

I suspect you're somewhat unique. I can't think of a single time in the past decade I have looked at my RPM and cared. I doubt a large majority of people care either. In any case I don't think it needs to be a massive round d

On #1: For me the pricing was a giant breath of fresh air compared to traditional dealerships. Audi kept me there for nearly three hours, the final price was 6k more than what was quoted to me on the floor, and they gave me what felt like a

While I agree it definitely needs some buttons for things, a counterpoint to that is other car makers have gone WAY too far with buttons and dials. I mean look at this hideous Macan design: https://di-uploads-pod17.dealerinspire.

In our case we have multiple tools that wrap docker and at first try none of them worked with podman. Podman doesn't actually have an API socket you can interact with. There is something called podman-helper but for the life of me I co

It feels like a bait and switch. They got us hooked on a free product and then slapped us with a bill and only short time to change all of our software to not use it if we didn't want to. Also the pricing jumped up the longer you waite

It doesn't work on M1 last I checked. And anyway even if they updated Virtualbox for ARM, Oracle is predatory and sends nasty emails about paying up if they detect anyone in your company uses it.

Genuine question: How much of that financial improvement is due to them requiring companies to now pay for Docker Desktop on macOS? We found ourselves essentially with no option but to pay up for a full year on short notice. We want nothing

I had the same issue. I think the idea is that you build something yourself on a trusted node that decides whether or not to endorse a new node. Off the top of my head I'd do something dead simple like verify the user account matches o

The infuriating thing is that this isn't necessary for CLI tooling. The reason this approach is taken is that you need a way to get the token to a local process even if the user is doing authentication in a browser. This can be av

HN still suffers from what I call the "Everyone is an idiot but me" mentality. There is also a bit of outrage from time to time about small things. But the fact that it is the worst that happens here is saying a lot though. HN rea
