Sometimes I do, but its eight times the cost and takes an extra 30 minutes each way. Ideally I would love to take public transportation. I love the idea of it, the economics, the traffic reduction, and the general social benefit. Unfortunat

It's not about PR budget or whatever. It's about the fact that they have an incredibly easy to use app, with millions of people actively using it, and a ton of software engineers who are really great at logistics problems like thi

There is a very large and rampant amount of bad behavior well below the "jail time" threshold. Even then, the police can't be everywhere all of the time.

I can't imagine how this is enforced. Clipper cards and cash will get you on any bus without any sort of check to see if you're allowed. There is probably a lot of overlap of people who get banned the people who skip gates and far

Strongly agreed. I have unfortunately had many infuriating and dangerous experiences on AC Transit and Bart. I'd pay extra to not have to be afraid I won't make it home to my kids.

I know everyone thinks this is a bus, but as a regular bus commuter in the bay area, I think there is room to expand here that a bus can't always meet. A few problems: * Bus stops are often far from homes and offices * There’s ra

Small point: I think the ETA is based on the position of the bus and how long it would take to drive to your stop in perfect conditions. It doesn't take into account traffic or any other road blockages or accidents like Google Maps or

From what I read, I think you can replace this all with a docker compose command and something like Caddy to automatically get certs. It's basically just this command once you have compose.yaml: `docker compose up -d --pull always` And

My favorite thing from my first Waymo ride was watching a lady walk up to the middle of the street to cross. The Waymo saw her, slowed, and waited to let her cross. She smiled and waved and immediately felt dumb because who is she waving to

This is a cute and simple idea! I'd like to see what a real physical book looks like before I buy it though. Do you have real pictures of a printed one? I think our kids would appreciate seeing the original (even if a small thumbnail)

I think you're being downvoted because this comes off a bit... I dunno... petty I guess? Maybe reply to the original post and let your product stand on it's own merits.

Waymo definitely operates on bad weather. In fact, that is when I use it most since I don't want to walk or bike in the city when its pouring. The wait times are longer on those days. City driving is very chaotic. Though speeds tend to

I worked on the team that originally built Nucleus (which is the system this is proxying to) and we most definitely gave a shit about it. Systems are complicated and hard to keep in your head. Knowledge doesn't always transfer to other

Yes. The same docker commands, including docker-compose, all still work. It just sets a new "docker context" that points to OrbStack's socket file instead. You can instantly switch back to Docker Desktop with a simple `docker

It's worse than that if you're a business. If you simply want to use Docker Desktop on Mac, you're required to get Docker Team ($15/user/mo for <100 users) or Docker Business ($24/user/mo for 100+ users

I second this. We switched everyone at Instacart over from Docker Desktop to OrbStack because it was so much faster, easier on the battery, and simple to use. It was particularly noticeable on our older Intel MacBooks. Simply running Docker

Does the Chrome extension still require you to enter a six digit code every day to even use it? When I tried it this was incredibly annoying and I switched back to 1password shortly after.
