That's not really true. All three carriers have top tier plans that are actually unlimited for mobile data (without slowing down). Many MVNOs have "unlimited" plans that are definitely not unlimited. If a plan offers 50GB of

According to Visible, their tethering is limited to 5Mbps on their low-tier plan and 10Mbps on their upper-tier plan. That's still useful - you can even watch Netflix and stuff. However, the tethering is limited in speed. The mobile da

Power consumption is definitely a big deal. I replaced an old PC that I'd been using as an always-on device with a tiny PC (i7-8700T) and it saved a ton of power. Given that power rates in New England are around $0.30/kWh, saving

This is the thing about software: even if you aren't looking to improve it, the world around it will subtly shift so it'll need to be updated or it'll stop working. For example, Windows XP can't access the modern interne

It's also how the bank bailouts were structured. They weren't free money. They were loans plus government ownership (which the government typically sold off for a nice profit). The loans were typically 5% which would rise to 9% af

Sort-of. You can't just take without just compensation so it'd probably cost the government $200B (you can't buy a whole company just at its market cap). But when what? OK, you've nationalized Intel. All the same people

Yea, this. Dokku was basically a single-server thing. If that box dies, your site goes down until you launch it on a new box. That might not be a huge deal for smaller sites. If my blog is down for a day, it's not a big deal. With a cl

It is now. There were a few years where it had basically disappeared (2015-2018). When Apple eventually put it back in the open-source world, it was done with little fanfare so it could be easy to miss.
